Announcing the Jury of the 2024 OPUS Music Competition

The OPUS Music Competition is thrilled to introduce the distinguished panel of judges for its 2024 edition, featuring internationally recognized musicians: Timothy Hoft, Vadim Serebryany, Peter Cosbey, and Yuri Cho.

Timothy Hoft (Pianist)
A virtuoso pianist, Hoft’s performances have been hailed for their “expressive intensity” (Gramophone). Known for his dedication to Ukrainian piano music, he has graced stages like Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. Hoft is a Professor of Piano at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Vadim Serebryany (Pianist)
Serebryany has garnered acclaim for his sensitive artistry, performing as a soloist and chamber musician worldwide. A Juilliard and Yale graduate, he has collaborated with numerous ensembles and currently teaches piano performance at Ithaca College, School of Music.

Peter Cosbey (Cellist)
Renowned for his versatility across genres, Cosbey is a founding member of the JUNO award-winning Annex Quartet. He has performed globally, including at Carnegie Hall and the Stratford Festival. Cosbey is the Professor of Cello at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay.

Yuri Cho (Violinist)
A versatile violinist, Cho debuted at age 10 and went on to perform at Buckingham Palace and Carnegie Hall. Her career includes numerous awards and collaborations with major orchestras in Europe, Korea, and North America. Cho has taught at prestigious institutions and has been a faculty member at the Young Artists Orchestra of Las Vegas since 2016.

This esteemed jury will provide invaluable feedback and expertise to the talented participants of the OPUS Music Competition.
